General Manager – Production

Job Summary

Responsible for formulating policies, managing daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources in the factory units.

Job Description

1.Contribute to the formulation of the company’s strategy and play a key role in decision making on a continuous basis                                  

2.Direct operations of the Factory in coordination with Purchase department to meet projected production volumes within budgets maintaining at all times the high quality standards.                                

3.Develop, submit and implement operating budgets, capital projects and maintenance programs to ensure efficient; and cost effective operations respecting good manufacturing practices.                                 

4.Play a key role in New Product Development process;                               

5.Design, install and modify production lines to produce high quality products for the local and regional markets.                             

6.Evaluate on a continuous basis the production methods and equipment and propose quality improvement and cost saving projects;                                   

7.Provide timely management reports relevant to factory operations and strengthen the interaction between Company, Regional Office and Corporate Office; Establish and maintain effective and fair labour relations within the Company and apply sound social and environmental principles;              

8.   Responsible for implementing lean manufacturing processes and techniques to boost productivity and efficiency, driving out cost and enhancing bottom line profit.                                                   

9.   Develops and co-ordinates production plans as needed by the Production Manager.                                     

10. Develops systems to improve operational efficiency, facilitate volume growth, and ensures the adherence to those systems internally.                           

11. To participate in the budgeting activities related to the plant.                              

12. To coordinate with the other departments heads like Purchase, Logistics, QC for smooth functioning of the production process                        

 

             

Specific Job Requirements 

Educational Requirements 

Bachelors’ degree/graduation or any other equivalent degree 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

Oversee the production, maintenance, QC ,Logistics functions 

Work Experience 

15 years of experience in similar industry with the same position 

Technical Core Skills / Requirements

Production planning, Cost and profit management, Team management 

Soft Skills
