Stuffed Idlis
Ingredients
- DH Idli/ Dosa Mix
- DH Asafoetida – ½ tsp
- DH Turmeric Powder – 1 pinch
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp
- Urad dal (uzhunnuparippu) – ½ tsp
- Onion – 1 (chopped)
- Garlic – 6 cloves (chopped)
- Green chillies – 4 (chopped)
- Potatoes – 3 (boiled and mashed)
- Salt – to taste
- Coriander leaves – 2 sprigs (chopped)
- DH Idli / Dosa Chutney Powder – as required
Prepare the idli batter as per instructions on the packet. Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds and urad dal. Add chopped onion, garlic and sliced green chillies. Sauté well. Add salt, turmeric powder and a pinch of asafoetida. When the onions become translucent, add mashed potatoes and mix well. Oil the idli trays. Pour half a ladle of batter into each. Place 1 tablespoon of the potato mix in each. Pour half a ladle of batter on top and sprinkle with chopped coriander leaves. Steam cook till done. Serve hot with chutney powder.
