Erachi Chola Puttu
Ingredients
- DH Corn Puttu Powder (chola puttu podi) – 2 cups
- DH Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
- DH Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
- DH Pepper Powder – 1½ tsp
- DH Meat Masala – 1 tbsp
- DH Fennel (Saunf/ Perinjeerakam) – ¼ tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 sprig
- Meat (mutton / beef / chicken) – 11/2 cups (cooked and shredded)
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Salt – to taste
Add the required amount of salt to the corn puttu powder and make puttu mix using warm water (make sure it is not lumpy). Heat oil in a pan. Add the sliced onions, curry leaves and ginger-garlic paste. Sauté well. Add the dry masalas and salt. Pour in half a cup of water and stir till the raw smell of the masalas is gone. Add the shredded meat and stir fry till it is dry. Place 2 tablespoons of this mix in a puttu funnel. Layer with 4-5 tablespoons of puttu mix. Repeat till the funnel is full. Steam cook till done. Serve hot with pappadams.
