Green Peas Pulao


  • DH Long Grain Basmati Rice – 2 cups
  • DH Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
  • Green peas (fresh/ frozen) – ½ cup
  • Onion – 1 (sliced)
  • Green chillies – 2 (paste)
  • Cinnamon stick – 1 piece
  • Cloves – 4
  • Ghee – 2 tsp
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Mint leaves – 1 sprig
  • Water – 4 cups (boiling)
  • Salt – to taste
Wash the rice, soak for 20 minutes and drain. Heat oil in a thick bottomed pan, and splutter cinnamon and cloves. Add the onion slices, ginger garlic paste and green chilli paste. Sauté well till the onions start to turn golden brown. Add the green peas and fry for a minute. Add in the rice, salt and ghee. Fry again till the rice turns white. Pour in the boiling water. Stir and add mint leaves. Close with a lid, reduce the flame to a minimum and cook till done.
